Melanie (Mel) Bruins has been an SHRM member for over seven years. While pursuing her undergraduate degrees, Mel was an active member of her student chapter serving as the Treasurer, Vice President, and President between 2003 and 2007. She was also a member of the Fond du Lac SHRM chapter for several years participating in meetings and networking events. In addition to her volunteer work with SHRM, Mel is actively pursuing her MBA from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Mel has worked for Oshkosh Corporation since December of 2009 and is currently the Manager of HR Compliance. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and Human Resources Management from Winona State, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Mel currently resides in  Waupun with her husband.

Tony Renning, Davis & Kuelthau Attorneys

Tony Renning is a shareholder with Davis & Kuelthau, S.C. (Oshkosh), providing advice and counsel to employers about their rights and obligations under federal and state laws and regulations. Tony advises on all aspects of labor and employment compliance, including wage and hour, leaves of absence, discrimination, harassment, reductions in force, work force management, employment policies and handbooks as well as other employment-related matters. Tony holds a bachelor's degree in sports marketing and management from Indiana University and a law degree from Marquette University. Tony served on the inaugural Board of Directors for the Oshkosh Area SHRM, serving as Director of Governmental Affairs (2009-2010). In addition to his volunteer work with SHRM, Tony is actively involved in the Oshkosh community serving on the Board of Directors for the Oshkosh Community YMCA, Paine Art Center & Gardens as well as the Wisconsin Family Business Forum.

Janine currently works as the HR Director of OEC Graphics, Inc. in Oshkosh. She has over 15 years of experience in the HR field and has been an active SHRM member since 1996. Janine has served various roles on the Fox Valley Board and was a key leader in establishing the Oshkosh Area SHRM Chapter. She has also been a volunteer at the Wisconsin State Conference over the last nine years and served as the Conference Co-Chair in 2010.

Jessica Buss has been an active SHRM member for three years. Jessica held the position as Secretary for the Oshkosh Area SHRM Chapter since the chapter was organized in 2009 until the end of 2011. She has five years of professional experience in Human Resources. She is currently a Senior Human Resources Representative with Oshkosh Corporation where she serves as a business partner to the corporate functions, and supports compliance. Jessica has an abundance amount of experience with benefits, compensation, recruiting, onboarding, wellness, facilitation, leading projects, and HRIS. Jessica holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a double major in Human Resources and Marketing from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. She is also PHR certified. Jessica enjoys volunteering for Junior Achievement and tutoring at local schools.

Katelyn is a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh where she obtained a BBA in Human Resource Management and Economics, as well as an emphasis in Supply Chain and Operations Management. Currently she is working as a HR Generalist at Plexus. She was an active member of the UWO SHRM chapter and has recently joined the Oshkosh SHRM chapter in September.

Valerie has been a member of SHRM for over ten years, beginning with the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh Student Chapter while in college, and was a member of Fox Valley SHRM for several years prior to joining the Oshkosh Area SHRM Chapter when it was formed in 2009. She has also been a National SHRM member since 2008.  Valerie has ten years of professional experience in Human Resources.  Valerie graduated from University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh Cum Laude in 2001 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business with a Human Resources emphasis.

Heather Shimeck, PHR, is a HRIS Analyst and has worked at Oshkosh Corporation approximately 5 years. She is originally from the Milwaukee area and went to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications with minor in Human Resources.

Amanda Clark, PHR, has been a national SHRM member for 9 years and a member of the Fox Valley SHRM Chapter for 8 years prior to joining the Oshkosh SHRM Chapter in 2009.Amanda has served as the Oshkosh SHRM Programming Director since November 2009 and leads the Programming Committee. She has volunteered at several state SHRM conferences by introducing speakers, assisting with pre-registration events, and registration. Amanda has been a speaker on wellness for the Fox Valley SHRM chapter. In addition, Amanda has volunteered for the UW Oshkosh student chapter by participating in resume critiquing, mock interviewing, job shadowing, and speaking at several meetings regarding various human resource topics. She has also been a mentor for several years to UW Oshkosh students pursuing a degree in human resources. She is the Human Resources Manager at 4imprint and has been with the company for almost 10 years. Amanda received her undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management and a master’s degree in Business Administration from UW Oshkosh.

Corrie Hearn, SPHR, has over 10 years of Human Resources experiences. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Administration from UW –Oshkosh. Corrie has been an active member in SHRM at a local level for a number of years. Corrie is also a member of the Partners in Education (PIE) through the Oshkosh Chamber, volunteers for Junior Achievement, Partners at Learning (PAL) volunteer and “teaches” in the classrooms on variety of topics surrounding how to apply for a job, resume writing, and interviewing. Corrie is a graduate from Leadership Oshkosh in 2010. She is employed at Miles Kimball Company as a Human Resources Manager and is responsible for recruiting, training and development, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and performance management. She lives in Oshkosh with her husband and 2 very active sons.

Chad grew up in Endeavor, Wisconsin a small town near Portage.  I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from UW-Eau Claire and a law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law.  I began my legal career at the Oshkosh office of Davis & Kuelthau where I primarily focused on labor and employment law.  This summer I took a position with the City of Fond du Lac as the Assistant City Attorney/Human Resources Manager. Outside of work he is an avid sports fan, and enjoy spending time with my wife, Angela, and our two dogs.  Though life will be changing for them very soon as they are expecting twins in December.
